One of my favourite travel place - Jurala Dam

        Hello Guys I am posting my another new post after long time due to my busy work schedule. After Ramdan Festival on 27th June 2017. We are the group of friends Azam, Mujeeb, Ghouse, Afzal and Mujahid has decided to go Jurala dam which is very near to our home town Gadwal and we want to celebrate this holiday with full of joy and lot of enjoyment.

             Actually several times we have been visited this destination since our childhood. Finally we started our journey from Fathima ITI College, Gadwal at 2:30 pm on three two wheeler bikes by road. further we reached Jurala Dam within 30 minutes.

               There is dam with full of backwater, greenery and so many visitors. While we are watching dam it looks so beautiful and blessed with perfect climate.

        In our Today's enjoyment we have played cricket after long time and wandered around the dam on bikes.





About Jurala Dam :

             The Jurala Praject which is known as Indira Priyadarshini Project laid over the Krishna River which is enters through the Jogulamba Gadwal Dist. It is 16 Km away from Gadwal and 14 Km away from Atmakur. 

Hydro Electric Project

                     This dam has water throughout the year. So hydro electric project was built on this dam. It is a one of the biggest dam in the country and constructed in the year 1995. It has a full reservoir level of 1045 feet and has a full capacity of 11.94 TMC. The length of the project is around one kilometer.Power is being generated through this hydro electric project which is shared with Karnataka state.


This Project has right and left canals for supplying water to thousands of acres of agriculture lands and also drinking water to many villages and towns.


This is a major tourist attraction for visitors through out the year and attracts large number of tourists from hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Kurnool, Raichur and other places during monsoon season when the water is released from the dam.

           Near tourist attractions are Ramalayam temple is located int he project colony, Parthasarathy Temple, Korakonda Ghattu temple, Chintarevula Anjaneyaswamy temples.



Fish Market :

         In Jurala dam a big fish market is available beside of the major canal. here all types of fishes are available which are very cheap in cost and also some fisherman conducting own shops and they also prepare and serves variety of fish dishes to visitors in reasonable cost.



         
Accommodation :

 The visitors can have comfortable accommodation at Haritha Hotel which is maintaining by state tourism near RTO Office, Gadwal Town, Jogulamba Gadwal district. contact # 9494421852. which is 2 km away from Jammulamma Temple.





How to reach Jurala Dam :


By Train : 
           One can reach the place by boarding train and reaching till Gadwal. which is  16 km from the destination. Next one may take up any transport facilities for visitors.


By Road :
          One may start from Hyderabad, one has to get down at Yerravalli X Road on NH- 44. which is 16 Km away from Gadwal then after 16 Kms through Shetty Atmakur, Peddapadu, Chintarevula villages finally you should reach at your destination.
